North Kitsap United (NKU)

A Community-Driven Vision to Unite Our Community Through Recreation, Health & Wellness

North Kitsap United (NKU) is a collaborative initiative created to meet the growing need for quality sports fields and active recreation facilities in North Kitsap County — a region where youth and families currently face limited and overcrowded play spaces and little to no options for active recreational activities.

As our community grows, so does the demand for accessible places where kids can play, practice, compete, and stay healthy. This NKU project brings together local partners and leaders – from public, private, government and non-profit – to deliver multi-generational recreation space that serves ALL ages.

Our Vision:

We envision a vibrant sports and recreation complex centered around a YMCA on centrally-located land made possible through community support, strong partnerships, and strategic conservation. The complex is expected to offer:

  • Multiple sports fields for soccer, baseball/softball, football, basketball, lacrosse, pickleball and more.
  • Space for numerous community leagues, practices, and tournaments
  • Year-round opportunities for play, fitness and active recreation, and extended family activities
  • YMCA equipped with an aquatic center, indoor gym space and childcare
  • Connections to and an extension of existing trails and public green spaces
  • Provisions for a frisbee golf course and dog park
  • Amenities that promotes health, teamwork, leadership, and community pride
  • 300+ acres of open space with animal corridors and an extension of (with more) hiking/walking/biking trails to the Port Gamble Heritage Park

This project will strengthen the youth sports leagues of today, support local clubs for continued advancement, and foster active lifestyles for generations to come.

The vision for the complex is focused on the centrally-located 400+ acres Raydient LLC owns on SR307 – just north of the intersection of Stottlemeyer Road and Bond Road.

“We believe we are better together. We invite your collaboration and welcome your feedback.”
